We will meet on Thursday morning around 10:30am. We will do some bonding review and work on examples using the periodic table. We will also research some experiments/demos we can do next week.
Check out the MEL Science website to learn about the chemistry of the experiment you performed today. Be prepared to demonstrate the experiment during META on Friday and describe what is happening during the reactions. If more than one group did the same experiment, feel free to work together.
We will meet Tuesday morning to review the ionic bonding tutorial and choose an experiment to perform – options for experiments include chemistry of monsters, tin hedgehog, and chemistry in special effects.
Back to Bonding…Let’s meet Tuesday morning to compare two common types of chemical bonds – ionic and covalent. We also need some volunteers to demonstrate experiments on chemistry of monsters and cyanotyping at the end of the week. Supplies are here and ready to go.

Here are some options for science research related to the skeletal system.
- fractures and repair
- bone cancer
- endoskeletons, exoskeletons
- cartilaginous skeletons
- skeletal disorders
- limb replacement
- joints and movement
- carpal and tarsal tunnel syndrome
If you are interested in ordering a mantis shrimp logo t-shirt, we will put in a group order the week after spring break. This will enable us to get free shipping. Check out the different style options here.
